Divisional Inspector, South,

Sir,

1. With reference to your instructions to take the bearings of a reported Japanese outrage on Fishing Junk No.2323 H.D. in Deep Bay early on 25th October, 1939, I proceeded to Deep Bay where I met the complainant PANG FUT

(1)with Police Sergeant A.200 Davies and Officer in Charge No.11 Motor Boat at about 17.30 hours on 25th October, 1939.

2. No.4 Launch was unable to approach the spot pointed out by complainant PANG FUT owing to insufficient depth of water. Bearings were therefore taken of the position of launch

as follows:-

South West Point

Tong Ku Light

N. 85 W.

3. 30 W.

), Chinese territory,

This made position of launch là miles S. 20 E. of Tse Hau (17

Position of complainant's junk at time of outrage was then pointed out to be approximately half way between the launch and Mong Tseng (# ) Point and by taking a bearing of Mong Tseng Point which was N. 65 E. 4 miles distant, I judged the position of the attack to be approximately 2 miles N. 65 E. from the launch which would be approximately 1 miles N. 42 W. of Sha Kong Miu (t), British

territory.
